ABOUT ME

The Sapphic Printing Press {est. 2020} was created by Deanna Armenti (she/fae) a Queer, Genderfae textile researcher, poet, and zine creator. Deanna recently completed her Fashion Master’s degree at Toronto Metropolitan University and is continuing in the Media and Design Innovation PhD program.

The Sapphic Printing Press publishes sapphic writers worldwide in a collaborative writing zine called SAPPHIC. The most recent issue, SAPPHIC Field Guide to Returning, uses the field guide format as methodology and an embodied, observation-based writing practice. Deanna also self-publishes her own poetry zines through the Press as well as creates lino and screen prints.

Aside from running The Sapphic Printing Press and her studies, Deanna has editorial assistant experience through having worked with the open-access journal Fashion Studies during her Master’s degree. Her article Subspace: An Internal and Liminal Place was published in Volume 5, Issue 1 of Fashion Studies in January 2024. She is a guest editor for issue 14 of Feral Feminisms, Feminist Forms of Submission. Her creative writing has received publication in zines such as Feels Zine, Carousel Collective, and Sinister Wisdom. Her poetry zine I Know My Own Heart was nominated for best Litzine at the Broken Pencil 2022 zine awards.
